From her Émulb series, Arang Choi paints a fluid, physical world where emotions play a central role and style and appearance remain secondary. The figures Choi depicts appear exposed, vulnerable and skeptical of their own existence, and can trigger an ambivalent relationship between empathy and strangeness.
